Summer Jam-packed

2010 - marked with boulder-sized milestones. Josh's thirtieth birthday and Hazel's first birthday/baby dedication came and went. Coming soon are our 5th wedding anniversary and my thirtieth (gasp). Bear in mind, preparing for such momentous occasions requires a certain level of planning. Even if it isn't supposed to be a huge blow-out, we gotta take it up a notch from the cake-in-a-box approach. Right?

Everyone has a little nerd in 'em.

Kid Fare: Sloppy Joe sliders with mac & cheese. And, an All Spark cake with cookies 'n cream ice cream.

Playtime: Balls, bubbles and kites at the park.

My Latest Bookmark

What better way to re-enter the blogging world than to explore other peoples' blogs?

It's been nearly a year since my last blog entry, which means it's time to plan a 1st birthday party. And when planning such an event, research is key. After visiting site after site, I noticed a trend. My favorite ideas came from blogs! Here are a few of my faves: http://mintsdesign.com/blog, http://hiphostess.blogspot.com/, http://www.sittinginatreeblog.com/. I can go on, but some will have to remain secret. ;)

Needless to say, I've attempted a few projects so generously shared by these bloggers. The success of the results ... well, they vary. And though I do not consider myself to be an expert when it comes to baking, for example, I can't help but LOL at the cakes posted on cakewrecks.blogspot.com. This one has just been bookmarked. It's a must see. Thanks Honey.
